Apply oils after the skin has been cleansed and toned. Lighter water-based serums should be applied before oils or mixed together.

• Start by gently shaking the bottle to activate the concentrate.

• Dispense onto the palm. The amount needed will differ from a few drops to a dropper full based on individual skin condition and climate. Use a light hand when introducing into a regimen, starting with just 3 to 5 drops and adjust to the desired amount based on skin feedback.

• Bring fingers from the free hand together with the oil so it is dispersed on both hands. The palm will serve as the passive-smoothing instrument while the fingers provide more targetted massage for optimal absorption.

• Press palm on cheeks and forehead and use fingers to gently massage skin in upward motions moving away from the center of the face.

As the most nourishing of serums, will this cause congestion?

Great question! Modern Alchemist is non-comedogenic, as it's very important to us that our formulas help the skin properly function without being weighed down.

While the ingredients provide deep nourishment that can satiate dry/mature skin needs, it should not cause congestion.

Is this product safe for pregnancy?

All of our products are formulated to be considerably safe for pregnancy.

The Bio-Retinol Complex is a plant-based alternative to synthetic Vitamin A, retinol, and features a high-potency dosage of natural retinol analogs. These are a different active entirely, and are food-grade, and plant-based.

Can I apply Modern Alchemist around my eyes?

We recommend a careful hand when applying oil-format serums around the eyes to prevent them from travel.

Application care aside, Modern Alchemist can be very beneficial to the eye area, especially the under-eye area. It's ultra-nourishing, helps boost skin density and elasticity, and is generally rejuvenating.
