How is No-Show™Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 different from Face Shield Classic SPF 50?
Our Total Protection™ Face Shield SPF products are formulated with Iron Oxides which offer a tint to them, in a range of shades and effects, whereas No-Show™ Mineral does not contain any iron oxides and is untinted. While Face Shield Classic leaves no color coverage for many of our customers, we know many still have a need for an all-mineral, untinted sunscreen without white cast. Our untinted, all-mineral No-Show™ sunscreen provides the same powerful Total Protection™ and skin-health benefits (hydration, calming, free radical defense) as our Face Shields, it:
- is ideal for someone who does not want tint due to transfer onto clothing (i.e. men and shirt collars):
- provides the sheerest-of-the-sheer aesthetic for deeper skin tones who have often had to use chemical filters to avoid white cast
- is also great for the Face Shield user on days when they want to be color/makeup free, (like working out), or using on hands, and body.
There are so many places and faces where No-Show™ Mineral can be used for powerful, all-mineral defense without compromising between protection and skin that looks beautifully like your skin.
Is there a color/tint to No-Show™Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50?
No. Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 does not have a color or tint to it. It is white when dispensed and blends away sheer so your skin looks beautifully like your skin.
How is there HEV or blue light defense in this product if it does not contain iron oxides?
In addition to being a powerful sunscreen active ingredient, Zinc Oxide also provides the therapeutic benefit of defending against blue light. Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 was tested to protect skin from 38.2% of blue light. For additional defense, follow with one of our Total Protection™ sunscreen brushes.
What is the texture and finish of No-Show™Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50?
No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen is an ultra-lightweight formula with a milky, fluid texture and is slightly lighter weight than Face Shields. It blends so easily and beautifully into skin you'll forget it's there. Skin is hydrated and left with a velvety, soft finish.
Will it work with all skin tones?
Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is formulated without any color or tint to it as was designed to work for all skin tones. It has been tested to wear sheer for a wider range of skin tones.
Pro Tips:
-When applying mineral sunscreens it helps to start from the center of the face and blend outward and upward in a single direction, rather than back and forth or in circular motions.
-Additionally, for deeper skin tones, apply gradually in small amounts, blending (outward and upward) in between layers until the full amount is applied. (i.e., if you prefer the 2-finger dose method, rather than applying the amount from both fingers at the same time, apply just one finger length amount of product first, blend, then apply the second finger length amount of product and blend. This will ensure you have applied the amount needed for full SPF coverage and will better help to achieve the No-Show™, white-cast free aesthetic.
How often should I apply?
Apply Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 liberally and evenly 15 minutes before exposure to environmental aggressors. Like all SPF products, reapply at least every 2 hours as recommended by the FDA and the Skin Cancer Foundation.
Can I mix this with my favorite Face Shield?
Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral SPF 50 and Face Shields SPF 50 can be mixed together to reduce the color or effect (glow, bronze, or mattification) from your Face Shield. (i.e., if mixing No-Show™ with Face Shield Flex, your color coverage will be less saturated and more sheer.) To maintain the maximum color coverage or effect, we would recommend layering No-Show™ Mineral under Face Shield. And remember, whether mixing or layering, ensure to apply the recommended sunscreen amount to ensure full SPF protection.
Can I use it on my eyes?
No-Show™ has not been tested for use around the eye area. Use caution when applying to the eye area and avoid getting product into eyes. Consider some of our non-liquid Total Protection™ products, including Brush-On Shield SPF 50, Sport Stick SPF 50 and Color Balms SPF 50 in 6 shades. Color Balms have been ophthalmology tested and are safe for use around the eye area, for sensitive eyes, and contact lens wearers.
What if my product is pilling, what do you suggest?
Apply product in a single direction blending outward and upward from the center or your face. Pilling can also be caused by other products applied in combination. For best results, allow each skin care or treatment product time to absorb/dry down into skin before applying the next product. Apply No-Show™ after the products in your skin care regimen have absorbed/dried down. After No-Show™ has dried down, follow with your makeup regimen.
Will this cause me to break out? / Is it suitable for acne-prone skin?
Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is oil free and was tested to be non-comedogenic, making this suitable for acne-prone skin.
Is No-Show™Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 suitable for oily skin?
Yes, Total Protection™ No-Show™ Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is suitable for all skin types, including oily. However, for those that find their skin requires additional oil control, we recommend following with our Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Sheer Matte SPF 30 Sunscreen Brush for easy-to-reapply protection that also absorbs excess surface oil, and features an untinted powder matte finish.
